Analytics Consultant. Extensive experience with measurement strategy and data collection. Super user of Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Kissmetrics / Mixpanel & their apis

Hi! I am a digital analytics consultant focusing on measurement strategy, technical implementation and training. I enjoy demystifying analytics and helping others effectively use data driven insights in decision making. Over the last 5 years I have worked with digital properties large and small (over 250 clients), with eclectic set of business models (leadgen, saas, ecommerce, content, membership). Some interesting collaborations include work for oDesk corp, invisionapp, getvero, vinja, tinyme, golfdiscount, runnersconnect, cellphonerepair. Because of the breadth and scale of my projects, I have a great understanding of analytics tools and how they work at a fundamental level. I have been especially called upon for my in the weeds expertise with Google Analytics, Kissmetrics and Google Tag Manager. In addition to common stuff I have worked with Attribution models, hacking GTM and GA to extend their capabilities and in very large deployments making sense of data, tools, reports and weird bugs. ps. I am currently in Hong Kong before heading to Karachi. As I don't expect my location to impact my availability, I am leaving the timezone in london [gmt+0] to keep the timezone offsets sane and easier to calculate while I move around.

The tool of choice for about 80% of my analytics collaborations. Have done work with all of its feature set. Working with its 3 generations (Traditional, Classic, Universal). One of my favorite tools to work with because of its scalability and verstatility. Its much like a spreadsheet simple on top but endlessely customizable if needed (and a rabbit hole in wrong hands). Enjoy solving mysterious data issues, explaining how the tool works, shedding light on its use cases and how to best use it for reporting needs as well as simplyfying the data reporting to focus on whats really important.

I have been working with mixpanel pretty extensively for a number of years now. Mostly focused on data collections (events, people, revenue), building useful reports (segmentation, cohort, funnels) and using the mixpanel data for personalization (think push notification and emails) targeted based on user activity. On first appearance Mixpanel, Kissmetrics & Amplitude are pretty similar. I also do a lot of consulting helping startups choose the best tool for their use case.
Google tag manager

I have been working with Google Tag Manager since its private beta early 2013. Since then this has become my goto tool for tag management and building an extensible data collection framework. Have been involved in several large scale migrations of legacy analytics to GTM. Interested in guiding migration plans, approaches to ensuring accurate data collection, helping take load off developer by training marketers to do basic setup themelves.

Segment.io is a very popular tool for deploying and managing digital analytics tags and sending data to multiple analytics vendors at the same time. Its a great tool to ramp up quickly and try a bunch of different analytics services. Though the initial setup is pretty quick and painless, scaling and maintaining it as your services grow can take some getting used to. I have worked with it a few dozen times from enterprise clients all the way down to starters. Am able to help set the stage correctly, help quickly troubleshoot any possible integration problems. It also helps that I have worked extensively with tools it commonly integrates with [see other expertise] so can help debug where the issue could be.

Experience building user driven reporting for clients using kissmetrics. Kissmetrics is a powerful tool for understanding customer behavior and easily do cohort and funnel analysis. I have used the tool for a variety of SaaS apps, ecommerce sites as well as member driven sites that have high upfront acquisition costs and need to asses lifetime value of customers.
Google analytics api

Have done consulting work building custom dashboard and reporting solution that used google analytics api. I generally led the requirement analysis and spec design phase. Have in depth experience with core reporting api and its query structure.

Majority of my digital analytics work has focussed on web analytics consulting. I have worked with sites in a multitude of industries (ecommerce, SaaS, content plays, lead gen, flash sales). Always enjoy troubleshooting data issues and cross polinating measurement and reporting strategies. Would be kee to help with startegy, kpi selection, data collection approaches and tool selection.

I am a technology enthusiast and always keen to try new tools and practices to make the job easier. This has allowed me to experiment with a lot of different tools over the years, quite a few of which have become widely adopted.. Some of them like Google Analytics, Kissmetrics and Mixpanel I have used extensively for more than 4 years. Google Tag Manager I have been an active user of since its private beta in early 2013 and used it frequently on several large scale implementations. Recent tools like segment.io, keen.io, heap I have briefly interacted with a couple of times. I can offer suggestions on tools to use and recommend alternate tools depending on your requirements.

Hussain was really helpful with my Segment/Mixpanel analytics tagging map for iOS app. Very knowledgeable and explained things clearly. Ultimately he gave me the confidence I needed to move forward.

Hussain was helpful and very knowledgeable on the topic in which I needed to discuss. He is in Pakistan, not London. His English was acceptable, but was a bit difficult to understand at times and I needed him to repeat himself. As long as he speaks slowly, you should have no problem.
