My name is Steve and I am interested in helping others navigate the fast paced field of web development. I have been developing websites since the 90s and have 3 years experience teaching at the collegiate level from teaching at General Assembly, Marymount College, and Syracuse University. I am currently the lead on a project at Symantec Corporation, where I oversee and develop UI components for enterprise web applications using AngularJS. My expertise stretches beyond this framework into ES6, Node Express, CSS architectures, and I am particularly strong in the area of computer graphics. Hire me today and you will find a passionate teacher who wants to help the next generation of engineers build performant web experiences.
Full-Stack Web Developer & Hybrid Mobile Developer (Ionic 1 / 2 / 3 + Angular 1 / 2 / 4) | Previously: Senior Software Engineer @ SmartThings / Samsung
Experienced full-stack engineer, functional programming aficionado, musician, & meditator
When I was 13 I brought a "Learn C++ in 21 days" book with me on a family vacation, and I've been writing code ever since. I've been pro for 8 years and have worked on a wide variety of projects, both as a freelancer and as an employee. I spent several years as an avid hobbyist game developer, and I always have at least one side project going on. I love learning new skills and finding the best way to do things, so I am constantly learning new languages, frameworks, and best practices that I hope to share with you. I also love to teach!
Google Software Engineer and Codecademy Curriculum Designer.
I have built my career around questioning and revolutionizing how to teach web app development, particularly in the field of taking learners from no knowledge to proficient software engineers. I picked up best practice coding conventions through my work as a software engineer and tech lead at Google, where I lead development on a high-profile internal tool, handling milllions of dollars in transactions and proactive customer support. I have then spent the majority of my professional life distilling this knowledge down and examining new pedagogical practices to pass it on to new learners. I have worked as a curriculum designer for Codecademy, designing courses and programs in almost every major web app technology, and acted as a private tutor to hundreds of students. This work has allowed me to continuously iterate and experiment with the best ways to quickly get new engineers up and running. I'm excited to continue passing on this knowledge and developing this work with the students of codementor!
Full Stack PHP/Java Engineer/Solutions Architect
I am an experience full-stack Java/PHP engineer with great experience in multiple technologies. I have been developing and engineering solutions for the web down to Microsoft Access. I am very passionate about my work and drive to learn and implement new strategies to better service end-users.
There are no stupid questions. Coding most of my life. I love it when the UX has computers serving people, not the other way around.
My primary motivation is to be useful, usually by getting computers to do what they're good at: the tedious stuff. When we do this as much as is reasonable to implement, we leave us humans more time to enjoy life. I got my real start in software development by proving myself doing exactly that: I took a very boring and error-prone business process, and automated most of it away, leaving a UI that even the most computer-averse users found intuitive. The direct and side benefits of this system are still felt at that business, 13 years later. Freelancer and @toptal talent; open to remote jobs. Tweet me at https://twitter.com/codingthat

CodementorX saved me a lot of time by sending a shortlist of qualified developers within 72 hours. On top of that, payment through CodementorX was secure and communication was easy. I was extremely satisfied with the engagement!
As a marketplace and 500 Startups company ourselves, we were happy to give CodementorX’s platform a go when we needed developers with specialized skillsets. They did not disappoint and allowed us to find qualified devs painlessly.
Besides having access to highly talented and experienced web developers, CodementorX's project management service also help manage timeliness and bridge communication between the founders and the web developers. This is extremely helpful and valuable, especially for non-technical founders like myself.
CodementorX is a freelance hiring platform uniquely different from other platforms. Freelancers on Codementor function as mentors to less experienced coders, who collectively help curate a list of the most elite mentors. When hiring through CodementorX, I know I’m hiring the best.
