Software engineer @ Airbnb, Ruby on Rails developer

I'm a software engineer at Airbnb. A year ago, I decided to enter App Academy, the top web development and programming bootcamp in San Francisco. I was the top student in my cohort. 8 weeks into the 12-week course, the founders asked if I'd help teach the program. I said yes. 3 months into instructing, I was promoted to Director of Product for the school, and was consistently the highest rated instructor. In my time there I interviewed and taught hundreds of students, re-wrote significant parts of the course, revamped and taught our entire 3 weeks algorithms and data structures curriculum, and prepared students for coding interviews at top companies. I also was responsible for much of the back-end development on App Academy's internal systems (RoR), and oversaw most of the company's application architectures. After leaving App Academy, I decided to pursue a role as a software engineer. I received offers from almost every company I interviewed at, including Google, Uber, Airbnb, Yelp, and Stripe. I now work as a software engineer at Airbnb. My specialty is working with people early on in their programming careers. I'm a first-rate teacher and have worked in the past as a professional coach (I used to be a professional poker coach back in the day), so if you have trouble grasping some of the concepts in programming, I would be an ideal mentor for you. I am also very skilled at preparing people for programming interviews, whether it be at a programming bootcamp, or for a Google interview. Reach out! Let's chat. Always open to have a conversation and learn about you're looking for. :)

Shooting for a job offer from a top company? Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Uber? Interviewing is ultimately a skill that can be learned. And the most important thing you can do to learn it is to practice under pressure, and to develop a rigorous study guide for yourself. About me: I've passed coding interviews and gotten jobs from almost every top company I interviewed at, including Google, Uber, Yelp, Airbnb, and Stripe. I'm a former instructor at App Academy where I taught their data...

Awesome job as always, helped me work through problems on my own and just provided minimal help when really stuck or my thought process was off which is what I requested. Really knows how to help you help yourself. Will be using again in the future and look forward to many more sessions
