Top San Jose Front end Developers For Hire - Dec 2017

Information Technology and Services Professional

I've known coding for a long time. I was a "coder kid", since I started learning how to program since very young (in primary school). So I'm comfortable with it, and I can help others, which may have started later, improve their abilities. I didn't just stay with what I learned growing up. I've been working in software for many years (since I was 19 years old in 2001). I'm a Costa Rican independent software developer, and work in software development and web programming. My current main area of work is the PHP platform, especially e-commerce with Magento 1 & 2 and Laravel 5+. I've also worked with the Java/Oracle and .NET/SQL Server platforms, and have a long history of loving and using Linux. I've been involved in several projects as a consultant and contract software programmer. I have experience in the following Information Technology areas: web programming, database design/development & optimization, low-level interface integration, software architecting, UNIX platforms & server support, and Windows based client software. I have some intermediate level Windows server side support experience as well. My experience with web technologies, since 2005, include general PHP projects, including WordPress and Laravel (since 2010 and 2014, respectively). I'm also proficient in Javascript and AJAX, mostly based on the jQuery framework (with some KnockoutJS work). My current specialization is Magento 1 & 2, including module development & support. On the database side, I have experience with MySQL & PostgreSQL platforms, along with Oracle and SQL Server platforms, performing development work & optimization. I'm not a DBA but I'm aware of several issues that are important for that area. While I can perform simple installations, my area of expertise is not the installation or maintenance of a full blown production database server. I'm also an Economics major, with experience working in social programmes in the Costa Rican government, and volunteering for Microcredits/Finance support for several communities in my country. Specialties: Software Architecture & Development, Database Design & Optimization, Quantitative Analysis, Development Economics.

Polyglot Developer driven to continuously learn

Hi my name is Drew. I am Co-founder and Developer at We are a consulting and contracting firm focus around Product, Design, and Development. If you are interested in what we do don't hesitate to reach out. We do work for startups as well as more substantial companies. In between our longer term engagements or mixed in-between our consulting engagements we fill our time by doing shorter term mentoring & freelancing. I started out working for a relatively large government contractor and after 6 years of working for them I decided to move into the startup world and get into projects where I would see more direct customer feedback. Throughout this time I have been focused primarily in the web app (Ruby, Python, JavaScript) and mobile app (iOS) space. I have been lucky enough to have opportunities to work and progress myself in my career with wonderful people up until my most recent gig for a pretty large startup, Acorns ( There I acted as a Lead Software Engineer & Architect managing a small team of developers and acting as a individual contributor. I focused on migrating their platform to a micro-service oriented architecture and re-architecting the platform to support the always growing user base and new features. From there a number of friends/co-workers I have worked with over the last 12 years or so off and on decided it was time to start our own company, UpTech Works, LLC ( I have been doing that since and filling the pockets of time with mentoring and freelancing.
