Hey all - I've been developing web applications for 12 years and love teaching, whether it is your first time, you're looking to pick up a new skill, or keep up on the latest technologies. I'm happy to advise also on the best courses to take, how to establish your career, what technologies to learn next, and how to get your first application or company started.
Hi! My name is Clark, I started coding since I was between 10-12? I can't even remember. It started from editing Game files to enabling cheats to making my own game private servers. Now I'm 25, a full stack software developer. Though I have still so much to learn! I'm pretty sure I have a thing or two of knowledge to share with you, never stop learning!
Experienced full-stack developer. I see code as an art form.
"Whoever travels without a guide needs 200 years for a two-day journey." Whether you're just starting out on the journey to becoming a great coder, or whether you're somewhere in the middle and you just got stuck, don't let it hold you back longer than necessary. I have over 8 years of experience with multiple software stacks. I started on Java with Spring Framework, then switched to Ruby on Rails. These days I work mostly with Node.js and CoffeeScript. I've worked with 4-person startups, billion dollar companies and everything in between. My goal is to get your issue resolved as quickly as possible, and give you all the tools and knowledge necessary to *understand* why you had this issue, and how to prevent it going forward.
Web Designer willing to go the extra mile. HTML/CSS expert.
Being a software developer is more than just learning to program in a computer language. I have been a developer for nearly two decades. I have designed several larger web sites from concept to deployment, some high-profile projects. I have served as a Lead Developer or Senior Developer for many years, mentoring other developers and encouraging them to use the latest technologies and best practices. I focus on teaching patterns and reusable methods for designing applications, and reinforcing the need to stay current as new technologies are released. I can give advice on how to focus your learning efforts to target specific types of development positions, and interviewing advice for finding a position within a software company. I have programmed in C++ for about 10 years prior to using C# and focused on web technologies, which I have now been doing for another 10 years. While I have primarily been using jQuery / Microsoft .NET / C# and have a background in C++, I have also utilized VB and VB.NET, touched on PHP/MySQL from time to time, and worked with the Microsoft SQL Server/Express/CE products for 10+ years. One of my most recent projects has been building a Unity 3D game, which is now on Steam Greenlight. Domain Driven Design is a basis for each of my projects' structure, and I reinforce the need to use best practices when coding. I can also explain SCRUM, which is used by many companies for handling team project management. If your final senior project is a "Concept to POC" type of project where the Proof of Concept is the working software required for a grade, then I will also teach you to use Balsamiq to wireframe your ideas before we begin developing any code. I can help you document the Project Scope, Functional Specs, create Design Documents, and build the presentation for your senior college project. We can build completely usable projects in a short time, both the user interface and the server components as needed. My focuses are HTML5 / CSS3, jQuery, Object Relational Mapping (ORM), C#, Microsoft .NET, Web Services (web api) and SQL Express.
I use technology to enrich people.
As a serial entrepreneur over the past 2 decades, I have a powerful understanding of business, technology, and people. I have scaled code to reach millions, both from a development and server perspective. My strength lives in my ability to communicate abstract concepts and support others in thinking through complex thought processes. I understand various components of tech, from DNS, to APIs, to servers, to development, to frontend/backend, and I can help someone think through their project and learn what's best. I can also share in a way that is sustainable, where someone is learning on their own. I want you to succeed without me. I also have consulted around business strategy and the psychology of entrepreneurship to optimize success. If you're not satisfied with any time we spend together, no charge. I value impact.
