Ben is a CS/Computational Linguistics graduate, ex-Google intern, and python fanatic. In his past academic life his was in a deep learning lab studying character recognition, and a Natural Language Processing lab studying how to automate diagnosis of certain neurodegenerative diseases. Nowadays, he spends his days working as a data scientist, and his nights exploring data his finds online, learning new programming languages, and brewing beer.
This is a class for anyone who wants to get a foundation in python, machine learning and data science. We’re going to learn how to express ideas in python, use popular machine learning frameworks, acquire, maintain, and clean data, and interpret machine learning predictions.
By the end of the class, you’ll be able to: Code in python; Acquire, store, and process datasets; Understand a few of the most popular machine learning models; Know how to use popular machine learning packages; and Make visualizations of your data.
This week we’ll take a dive into the python programming language. We’ll talk about basic data types (lists, strings, integers), and data flow mechanisms (for loops, if statements). By the end of this week, we’ll be able to start solving basic problems with code!
This week we’ll explore some more advanced python features such as dictionaries, functions, and files. We’ll also start to talk about what machine learning is, and some fundamental concepts related to data analysis.
This week we’ll learn about some specific machine learning models, and use Scikit Learn to build, train, and evaluate them on a real world dataset.
This week we’ll continue focusing on training and improving machine learning models, and also chat about how to visualize, explain, and evaluate our models.
The weekly live group lecture is the core of the class. The mentor will teach the curriculum live and students can ask questions directly.
You'll get the chance to code live via hands-on exercises. All students will work on the exercises together and get instant feedback from the mentor via screen-sharing.
Had to miss a class? Fear not. All lessons are recorded and you can review the recordings in the future.
For only $99, you’ll get to learn Python live with a real online mentor. This includes 8 hours of live classes with instant feedback and hands-on exercises. Having live interaction with a mentor makes learning much easier than watching recorded video tutorials.
We have 1 live session per week for 4 weeks. Each session is 2 hours long, and will include live lectures, hands-on exercises, and Q&A. You will get to code together with the instructor and other members of the class!
The live classes will be held online at 6PM PDT (BST-8) / 9PM EST (BST-5) on Thursdays starting from June 1st.
This is for people how are interested in getting into Machine Learning and Data Science. No prior Python programming experience necessary, but prior knowledge of programming will be useful.
All classes will be recorded and you‘ll have access to the recordings at any time. You can also ask questions in our Slack channel and get help from other members of the community.
Delayed Live Class is for those who couldn't make it for the live sessions. With Delayed Live Classes, you'll be able to watch recordings uploaded within 24 hours after each session, and have access to our Slack community to ask questions and discuss with your peers and the instructor.
If you feel this isn‘t a good fit after the first class, we‘ll give you a full refund.
