Backstory
I started programming in 2018 after my mentor told me that it really fits the way I think.

Before I started I was learning marketing, working in Facebook Ads and Shopify Stores (with Google Analytics, VWO, and other website optimization softwares), I was more interested in automation, and building to do tasks only once.

I started at first learning Python for automation (which is still my primary language and what I really enjoy coding in). Eventually, I learned that by itself, Python isn't that sharable if you want other non-coders to use the my apps, so I grew my way into web development, diving deep into Django, HTML & CSS, building multiple sites with only those to get experience, for example:

And more :)

Then eventually learning JavaScript and the Vue.js framework to take my websites, designs, and User Experiences to the next level, building at first simple apps like my DollarPerHour Calculator (https://zackplauche.github.io/DollarPerHourCalculator/), and more advanced ones, like the current one I'm developing (still in progress, but it's the biggest app I've ever build, using both Vue.js and Django).

I've been teaching programming since 2019, and my students have loved me. I have students I work with that have been working with me weekly since I first started (more than 5 years now!). They helped me keep both my coding and teaching career sustainable as I was helping them with their issues, training them to be effective developers, starting my own software agency, and building my own apps.

I'm extremely grateful to my students and truly care about and do my best to support their success in whatever their endeavors.

Python is my first and primary programming language. I initially learned it to learn automate tasks, using it for things like: • File Creating and Organizing automations • GUI automations (controlling a computer's keyboards and mouse on it's own) • Data Science app prototyping (like my app for creating Blue Ocean Strategy charts: https://www.github.com/zackplauche/BlueOcean) • Custom Calculators and CLI interfaces Since learning Python isn't that portable on it's own, I started learning Django to share my apps, ideas, and automations to non-coders, or anyone with an internet connection 🙂. A few of my example sites are: • My own website: https://www.zackplauche.com/ • My agency website: https://www.zackhub.com/ • A website I built for my student: https://flva.herokuapp.com I've also helped students build projects like custom music automation programs, their own websites, connecting to Databases using SQLAlchemy, and more 🙂. I love Python, and I love teaching it. Breaking down complex concepts and teaching them in a simple manner, from the ground up, is the approach I use that typically helps my students finally grasp the information that other more tech savvy developers, while skilled, may not be able to effectively teach.

Django was actually the first Python & Web Development framework I started using. I wanted to learn how to build my own website (since I failed initially with learning Wordpress) and share my services and ideas with the world through my own medium. I built my first website: https://www.zackplauche.com/ and many more since then. A few examples include: • My agency website: https://www.zackhub.com/ • A website I built for a student of mine: https://flva.herokuapp.com/ • A client's website: https://www.cax-files.com and have taught this more than any other topic to my students. I also contributed to more to Django than any other topic on Stackoverflow, having the highest voted answer (45 upvotes so far: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/15209978/where-to-store-secret-keys-django/61437799#61437799) I'm very familiar with hosting projects on Heroku, and have taught many people struggling to get their first project online. I'm currently expanding into building projects using frontend Frameworks (primarily Vue.js), working with Django REST Framework (DRF) to create REST APIs and make sites that feel better to work with. I'm extremely comfortable with Django, and I love building and teaching others how to build Django projects, implementing and sharing up-to-date / modern code & best practices. If you're interested, I'd love to help you learn Python and the Django framework 🙂.

I started learning Vue in 2021 to level-up my websites and User experiences. After working with Django, HTML , and CSS to get my sites working as well as I could, it would often take me a lot of time, and there were websites that I knew existed that ran well, looked beautiful, and gave a smooth User Experience. While typically I could get the general content structure and funnel of my websites right, the user experience wasn't always smooth. Users would have to reload the page to display any new content, pages were more static and less dynamic, and the overall experience wasn't that great. I knew that learning JavaScript was the next step, but JavaScript on it's own wasn't that fun to work with. I had to learn a frontend-framework. I chose Vue for 2 reasons: 1. I looked at the React documentation and was super confused and it looked really ugly in my opinion. I looked at the Vue framework, and it was WAYYYY better documented and had a lot of really clear tutorials. 2. React is owned by Facebook, while Vue is Open Source, and I've had better experience with Open Source technologies than not (especially with Facebooks famous customer support, or lack there of 😉). Learning Vue felt natural, and felt a lot like learning Python. I started with Vue 3, so while I am fresher to this framework, I'm actively engaged in the Vue community while also using it and gaining experience through my own projects. 2.

I started learning over 3 years ago, quickly mastering HTML and it's semantics to make the order, look, and feel of the code itself to make sense, while also developing a deep understanding and experience with CSS to build my websites designs. Some of which you can checkout here: • My website: https://www.zackplauche.com/ • My agency website: https://www.zackhub.com/ • A simple calculator I built: https://zackplauche.github.com/DollarPerHourCalculator • A project I built for one of my students: https://flva.herokuapp.com/

Before I started programming, I worked with an Advertising Agency, building Ecommerce Stores on Shopify. I setup clients stores via themes, uploading their products, setting up shipping and handling, connecting the websites to Facebook via the Facebook Pixel (pixel used for tracking Adverstising conversions) and Google Analytics, Hotjar, and other conversion optimization softwares. I've also worked extensively with my developer who is able to do custom template editing and Shopify App building / editing and website speed optimizations.

TLDR: I can both code AND teach really well and I have 97+ 5 Star reviews on the tutoring platform Wyzant. You can see my profile here: https://www.wyzant.com/Tutors/LearnPythonWithZack I started teaching people how to code since July of 2019. Initially teaching general Python, then as I grew my Web Development skills, teaching Django, HTML, and CSS. I have the skill and talent for learning complex concepts and being teach them in a simple, digestible way to my students 🙂. You can read more in my bio, but I have students that have been working with me since I started my code teaching / mentoring career over 2 years ago because they love the way I teach and engage with them on our calls. I do my best to ensure that the student learns and is taken care of, learning what they're goal(s) are and helping them to achieve it. Using up-to-date best coding practices, and language specific best practices, I'm able to walk you through the process of debugging, problem solving, or building an app / business idea through to completion. I let my clients know when I can or can't help them, and I don't lie about knowing something I don't. So, whether you're wanting to learn to code or need a developer who knows what he's doing and you can feel safe with, I'd be more than happy to be your code mentor 😁!

Reflector is a program I built to walk it's users through an experts (or their own) thought processes to direct their thoughts into different, more actionable, creative steps in the easiest format possible. This software lets you learn more about yourself and always have ideas and action steps. Built overtime to track daily progress, wins, priorities, etc. It's like an app for life really.

This is the first website I built 🙂. I used this project to learn Django, HTML & CSS, and how to get a website online (in general), buy the domain name, and host it on Heroku. I was learning concepts at the same time I was teaching, pickup up best coding and website practices. I was learning Sass/Scss at the time as well.
